Fang Gang is the son of servant, Fang Cheng. Renowned swordman Qi Ru Feng takes Fang Gang under his tutelage but Fang Gang grows up being scorned upon by fellow students and by the spoiled daughter of Master Qi, Pei Er. To prevent discord, Fang Gang decides to leave resulting in a fight where Pei Er slices off the right arm of Fang Gang in anger. Fang Gang escapes and falls into the boat of Xiao Man, a peasant girl. Xiao Man, seeing that Fang Gang is in critical danger, saves his life and nurses him back to health. Fang Gang, a martial arts enthusiast, then learns the left-hand-based techniques from the manual left behind by Xiao Man’s father.
Meanwhile, Master Qi, who has been planning to name his successor and retire invites all his disciple for his birthday and retirement ceremony. His enemy, Long-armed Devil, seeking revenge, has designed a special weapon and martial art style to counter Master Qi’s style. Together with his friend and disciple, kills off students travelling to attend the ceremony. Fang Gang learns of the plot and decides to save his teacher. When he arrives, many of his classmates were already dead and Master Qi injured. Using his father’s old broken sword and his newly acquired techniques, Fang Gang kills Long-armed Devil, saving Master Qi’s family.
One-Armed Swordsman
Situated in Shanghai in 1910, the movie starts off with Chen Zhen, portrayed by Bruce Lee, attending the burial of his teacher, folk hero and founder of the Jingwu Athlete Association, Huo Yuan Jia. Distraught by the demise of his teacher and finding the death of his teacher suspicious. During the funeral at the Jingwu Athlete Association, fighters from a Japanese dojo arrives with a gift, a sign with the words “Sick Men of East Asia” and humiliates the Chinese at the association.
The next day, Chen Zhen returns the sign to the Japanese dojo challenges the Japanese, singlehandedly defeating everyone at the dojo. Subsequently, while taking a stroll, Chen Zhen was denied entry to a park by a guard due to a sign that forbids entry to dogs and Chinese. A Japanese man then offers to bring Chen Zhen in if he behaves like a Japanese’s dog. In his rage, Chen Zhen beat up the Japanese and smashes the sign. Chen Zhen was then whisked away by on-lookers.
The Japanese dojo Master, enraged by Chen Zhen, colluded with the Japanese ambassador, forcing Jingwu Athlete Association to hand over Chen Zhen and orders an attack on Jingwu Athlete Association as well. To prevent trouble, it was arranged that Chen Zhen leaves Shanghai the next day. However, at night, Chen Zhen discovers the murder plot of his teacher by the cook and butler, killing them both in a fit of rage.
Chen Zhen proceeds to kill Wu En, the translator who arranges the murder for the Japanese. Enraged, the Japanese dojo Master sends his student to kill everyone at the Jingwu Athlete Association. Whereas, Chen Zhen enters the Japanese dojo to seek revenge, and subsequently kills everyone, avenging his teacher. The attack on Jingwu leaves all dead except a few. By then, the Shanghai police inspector has arrived to arrest Chen Zhen. Chen Zhen, seeing the trouble he has caused, surrenders on the condition the police inspector ensures that Jingwu Athlete Association is unscathed. Chen Zhen then walks out only to charge towards a firing squad that is facing him.

Police Story
Police Story follows Jackie Chan’s character, Chan Ka Kui, a police sergeant on his attempt to put drug lord, Chu Tou, portrayed by Chor Yuen, behind bars and the challenges and dangers that he and his family faced from the henchmen of Chu Tou. The movie starts off with a police operation in a village to ambush Chu Tou. Chu Tou, tipped off by his secretary Selina, portrayed by Brigitte Lin, escapes resulting in the ensuing gun fight and car chase through the village. The police operation climax when an under-deterred Ka Kui apprehend Chu Tou after chasing a bus on foot, risking his life in the process.
Chu Tou, arrested by Ka Kui, tries to prevent both Ka Kui and the witness Selina, from appearing in court through attacks and threats by gangsters. His plot eventually succeeds with him not being charged when Selina absent herself from the court. Chu Tou, upon his release from prison, orders for the death of Ka Kui, using Selina as bait and Police Inspector Man, who works undercover for Chu Tou in the police force, as a broker. Man was then killed using Ka Kui’s gun to frame him for murder when Ka Kui turned up. Framed as a murderer, Ka Kui takes his cooperative Superintendent hostage in an attempt for the freedom needed to clear his name. Selina, understanding that Chu Tou would silence her downloads evidence of criminal activities from Chu Tou’s computer prompting action from Chu Tou, which further alerts Ka Kui, who has been monitoring Chu Tou, ensuring in a massive fight for the evidence between Ka Kui and Chu Tou.
Ip Man
The film starts with the opening of a martial arts school in Foshan, China, nicknamed the village of martial arts. The owner of the new school, Master Liu, pays a visit to Ip Man, a Master of Wing Chun martial arts, portrayed by Donnie Yen, to exchange pointers. The closed door fight, unknown to Ip Man and Master Liu, was watched by Sha Tan Yuan. The naive Sha Tan Yuan, then went around spreading news of Ip Man’s victory, tarnishing Master Liu’s reputation in the process. The episode ended with the interference of Police Inspector Li Qiu and Yuan running away from home.
Jin Shan Zhao, arrives in town planning to open a school, creates trouble by challenging and defeating all the Master in Foshan. After learning that Ip Man is the best fighter in Foshan, Jin Shan Zhao proceeds to challenge Ip Man. Initially reluctant, Ip Man eventually agrees to a closed-door fight as Jin Shan Zhao humiliates him in his own home and to uphold the reputation of Foshan.
Ip Man lost his home and wealth when the Japanese invaded Foshan in 1937. To support his family, Ip Man works at a coal mine, turning down an offer to work at a cotton mine opened by Chow Qing Chuen, portrayed by Simon Yam, with Ip Man’s finance support. Japanese General Miura, a Karate expert and martial arts enthusiast, organises martial arts competition between Japanese and Chinese where winners gets a bag of rice. Wu Chi Lin, friend of Ip Man and brother of Yuan, joins the competition and is killed by Miura after he continuously refused to back down after defeat.
To look for his friend, Ip Man joins the next competition and witness the execution of Master Liu by Colonel Sato. Enraged, Miura warns Sato never to do it again. Enraged, Ip Man demands to fight 10 Japanese fighters and wins but refuses to disclose his name and accept his prize, only retrieving Master Liu’s bag of rice and returns it to his family. General Miura, impressed by Ip Man, asks him to return.
Jin Shan Zhao, now a bandit, hijacks Chuen’s cotton shipment and sells it back to him. During the grace period given to raise the “ransom”, Ip Man helps Chuen by teaching the workers Wing Chun. Ip Man subsequently defeats Jin Shan Zhao when he comes to collect his “ransom”. Ip Man then relays the death news of Wu Chi Lin to Sha Dan Yuan, who was discovered to be hanging out with Jin Shan Zhao.
Getting impatient, General Miura orders translator Li Qiu and Colonel Sato to find Ip Man. Ip Man was found and was incapitated by Ip Man when he makes advances towards Ip’s wife. Li Qiu hides Ip Man in his house to keep him safe from the Japanese. To force his appearance, the Japanese take the cotton mill workers hostage, prompting Ip Man’s appearance. General Miura order Ip Man to teach the Japanese Wing Chun in return for the lives of the hostages. Ip Man refuses and challenges General Miura instead. General Miura, upholding his honour, accepts the challenge.
The match, taking place in public, ended when General Miura, unable to break through the tough Wing Chun defense, endures a relentless beating from Ip Man. Enraged, Colonel Sato shoots Ip Man, sparking a riot from the Chinese audiences. Amidst the chaos, Li Qiu kills Colonel Sato and Ip Man was rescued by his wife and friend Qing Chuen and escaped to Hong Kong.
